The world around us acts like a mirror of our inner selves. Everything that we perceive to be outside of us, is actually a part of us – there is no "out there".
In physical reality, there is a delay between experiencing something on the inside, and having that energy being reflected to us on the perceived "outside". This is a great tool as it gives us an opportunity to process things – a time buffer that allows us to resolve inner issues before they manifest outwardly.
In the realms of expanded awareness, like the astral plane, there is no delay, and there is also no way to hide how you feel inside. The truth about you is out on the open and any individual being that interacts with you can know exactly what you are about.
So, what are you about? Have you decided yet?
How about this idea:
“I am a beautiful part of Creation, perfectly formed for the experience I am choosing to have in this life.”
The above phrase is a belief, if you resonate with it, you may decide to accept it, and make it your own. The key question to ask with all beliefs, especially the ones that affect our self image is: "does it serve me to think this way".
Very often, people who have not made a clear decision about who they are, end up basing the ideas they hold about themselves on what other people think. This is not a very reliable method, because, if the person is surrounded by disempowered individuals, they would just end up picking up disempowering beliefs.
Beliefs that do not belong to us, feel very unnatural and heavy. Deep down, we know they do not serve us, but we keep holding onto them and keep carrying them around like heavy boulders.
The reason why people keep choosing to do things that do not serve them is, because, in some way, they are motivated to do so.
In our life, it seems like we have many different things that guide our decisions, but in actual fact, it all comes down to one motivation:
“To move towards what we believe to be more pleasurable and away from what we believe to be painful.”
The key part is the word “believe”. The situation might not be intrinsically true, but if we believe it is, we would be motivated to move.
Deep down, people know that they can have an answer if they just ask the question. However, if they carry a belief that the related knowledge might be more painful than their current state, they would avoid any opportunity to proceed.
Here is one example:
Someone has been taught to believe that they have no value, so they keep attracting situations and events that support that negative belief. Their life is miserable but they still choose to carry that belief and turn down opportunities to examine it. Why?
That person feels that the pain of discovering that this belief may be true would be much greater than the misery of their current experience. At least right now, there is a shadow of a doubt that this belief might be false, so they choose to cling to this doubt.
It is the ultimate “catch 22” – the person is afraid, so they don’t look, and because they don’t look – they continue to be afraid.
Negative beliefs know that if a person examined them closely, they would be able to see right through their falsehood. That’s why they use all sorts of cunning ways to scare people away – it is their method of surviving and perpetuating themselves. Therefore, a good indication that you are getting close to transforming a negative belief is when the related fear becomes really magnified. At that point, be brave and just keep moving forward, you are almost there.
In truth, the negative beliefs, themselves, are afraid. They fear that, without our belief in them, they have no solid foundation for existence, and would just dissolve into nothingness. They use fear because that is their nature. Our nature is love.
When you identify a negative belief that does not serve you, a good way to transform it is to approach it with love. Acknowledge its existence as a valid choice, equal to any other choice that you may have in your life. This belief was acting as a stepping stone on a path to where you are right now and, therefore, it has served its purpose well. Let it know that you appreciate it, love it, and that at this time, it is simply a choice you no longer prefer.
Reassure this belief that it will not die, and that it will always exist as valid and valued option within creation. There is no need to push it or force it, simply allow it the freedom to be somewhere else, and let it go.
Here are some examples of negative beliefs and ways to transform them:
“You have no value”
Everything that exists, has built-in value. It’s like we are all part of a jigsaw puzzle and each piece fits perfectly, no matter what shape it is. When I am inspired to share something, it means that there is someone already looking to benefit from what I’ve got to give. Therefore, I am adding value just by being myself.
“Nobody loves you”
Love is the energy of Creation and permeates through all things in existence. If I exist, that means I am loved by All That Is. Whether or not a particular person wishes to express their love towards me, is up to them. The important thing is that I love myself enough to not accept disempowering beliefs.
“You don’t deserve to feel good.”
This belief is so clever that it almost convinced me! Now, let’s be clear about something - feeling good is my natural state, so any activity that allows me to feel joy or pleasure is right for me. I do not need anyone’s permission or approval for what I choose to experience in my life.
